the 5 steps workbook: The Secret to a positive postpartum

The essential guide to feeling calm, confident, and supported in your fourth trimester—before your baby even arrives.

You’ve prepared for the birth. but have you prepared for everything that comes after?

Let’s be honest: most of us spend hours researching strollers and car seats…
But when it comes to postpartum recovery, emotional changes, sleep deprivation and feeding struggles? We’re told to “just figure it out as we go.”

And that’s exactly why so many new moms feel blindsided, overwhelmed, and isolated in the weeks after birth.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

Imagine walking into postpartum knowing:

That kind of clarity isn’t a luxury.
It’s a lifeline.

Introducing

✨ The 5 Steps Workbook: The Secret to a Positive Postpartum✨

A 29-page expert-guided workbook created by a certified postpartum doula.

This is the exact framework I give my 1:1 doula clients, and now it’s available to you.
Inside, you’ll find everything you need to create a personalized postpartum support plan. Not one created with unrealistic hopes and dreams, but one that actually works when you’re exhausted, emotional and figuring out how to be someone’s mom (while trying to take care of yourself, too).

Here's what's included:

Real talk:

Trying to build a support plan when you’re running on 3 hours of sleep, bleeding, crying over latching issues, and hosting family who overstayed their welcome

That’s not setting yourself up for success.

This is.

This is for you if...

This is not for you if...

Postpartum can be unpredictable, but we believe that with the right prep before baby arrives, any new mom can feel calmer and more grounded, even when things don’t go exactly to plan. Your recovery and mental health are just as important as your baby’s needs.

Being prepared in advance to care for yourself IS caring for your baby, and will help you truly enjoy those precious early weeks together.

Meet Your Instructor: Certified Postpartum Doula Siobhán Alvarez-Borland

I’m a writer, educator, mom of three and certified postpartum doula, PCD(DONA).

After my first baby was born, I was completely floored by how under- prepared I felt for postpartum. I had a birth plan, a car seat, a freezer full of lasagna and still, I was like, “Wait… this is what recovery feels like? Why didn’t anyone tell me this part?”

The truth is, most parents go into birth with a plan… and go into postpartum just hoping for the best.

That experience lit a fire in me. I changed careers, became a certified postpartum doula, and made it my mission to help families feel supported, prepared and actually cared for in the fourth trimester.

I’ve spent years walking alongside new parents in those raw, beautiful, blurry first days—offering education, emotional support, practical help, and the kind of real-talk reassurance I wish I’d had

But I also knew something bigger had to change: Access to postpartum support shouldn’t depend on your zip code or budget. That’s why I created this workbook: to bring compassionate, evidence-based postpartum education to every family, no matter where you are or how many babies you’ve had.

This isn’t just a job for me. It’s deeply personal. And I’m so honored to walk this part of the journey with you.

ready to feel confident about postpartum?

Walk into your fourth trimester with clarity and confidence, not chaos.

Actually, now is the perfect time. The earlier you walk through these 5 steps, the more time you have to line up support, have conversations with your partner, and prepare emotionally for the transition. Plus, you’ll have lifetime access, so you can revisit it anytime as your due date approaches (and after baby arrives!)

This guide is designed to reduce your mental load, and you can complete the workbook  in under 2 hours. It walks you through what matters most and helps you focus on what will actually make a difference once baby is here. Each step is short, doable, and calming.

A: Nope! Whether you’re planning a vaginal birth, C-section, or are unsure, this guide supports YOU and your recovery, no matter what path your birth takes.

Yes, because birth is just a few days. Postpartum is every day after that. While your birth plan helps you prepare for labor, your postpartum plan helps you prepare for healing, emotional changes, feeding challenges and getting the support you’ll need in the first few weeks. It’s the difference between feeling overwhelmed and feeling grounded. You deserve both.

Totally understandable, and yes, it’s very easy to use. The workbook is broken into 5 simple, guided sections with fill-in-the-blank prompts that are short, friendly and clear. You don’t have to “complete” it all in one sitting, either! Think of it as a trusted guide you can come back to, step by step. You don’t have to be perfect: you just have to start.

You could, but piecing together random blog posts or TikToks won’t give you a clear, personalized plan. This workbook was created by a certified postpartum doula who’s actually supported real moms through the fourth trimester. It pulls together everything you actually need to know, and skips the overwhelm, conflicting advice and late-night Googling. You’ll walk away with a practical, supportive roadmap built just for you.
